Google CR-48 Notebook - Pilot Program

Google Cr-48 is a test notebook from google which they call it a pilot program running on google s new operating system Chrome OS .There has been a much hype in techno world about the new operating system which is under the test stage with the pilot program.

Chrome OS is a open source linux operating system with their project named as Chromium OS .It can be called as an extension to google chrome web browser as the operating system is almost similar to their web browser.

The Cr-48 test note book under pilot program has lot of new and attractive features like the reduced booting time , resuming from sleep instantly , good built in Wi-Fi and 3G and a webcam for video chat.The sheduled lauch of this operating system can be expected in start of new year or mid 2011.

Google Chrome OS - New Operating System from Google [A03]

Google Chrome OS is the next new Operating System from Google company which is scheduled to be made functional from start of Jan 2011 to may be around mid-2011 .The name Chrome OS sounds familiar to their Chrome Browser , as they say its the Extension of their chrome browser.

The User Interface is almost like a web browser interface as it is targeted towards the people who spend most of the time using internet and its resources.Google Chrome OS is an open source operating system based on Ubuntu , a linux operating system with the project known as Chromium OS .Chrome OS will only ship on specific hardware from Google's manufacturing partners.

MicroMax Modu T is been awarded the world's Lightest touch screen mobile weighing just 55 grams.It can also be said as World's Lightest 3.5 G mobile.The looks are pretty sleek and trendy and can be said as a tough competitor for other mobile phone brands in Indian Market.

Intel developers meet held recently showcased WeTab a supercool tablet based on their new Operating system MeeGo.WeTab is the first tablet to use Meego OS .For all those not aware what is Meego , its an open source operating system with collaboration of both Nokia and Intel.

Resistive Touch Screen Vs Capacitive Touch Screen [A02]

Capacitive and Resistive are two most common types of Touch Screen available in almost all the Mobile phones used.A much debated topic is which one to use ,whether to go for Capacitive or stick to Resistive.Before selecting which one to choose i made a small research on these two technologies.

What is Resistive Touch Screen ? 

- Its a Screen that requires a additional pressure to be applied to the screen to activate the functions present or to make it respond to user interactions.This screen consists of many layers separated by thin spaces and when the pressure is applied to the surface by finger or stylus the layers get touch completing the circuit.

Features :

• Cost is less compared to Capacitive touch screen
• Multi - touch is not applicable ( may be in future there s one )
• Requires pressure either by Stylus or Finger
• very less prone to scratches

What is Capacitive Touch Screen ? 

- This type of screen mainly relies on electric properties of human body and mainly the finger touch . The very light touch of finger is enough for the screen to respond unlike the resistive screen which requires pressure.There has to be a conductor for this screen to respond as human body acts like a conductor so only available option is finger.It does not work with stylus or any other pointer device

Features :

• Its costly , so does cell phones with this screen technology is costly
• Multi-touch is a very important feature in this type of screens
• Sensitivity of this screen is very high
• Easily gets scratches

So which is better ? That is left for the readers to decide , if cost factor is considered then resistive works , if current technology is considered then Resistive screens are outdated.
